<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 3.99cm;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">When deciding whether or not a road is a good choice,
our intuition could suggest it is dangerous, because of a couple car
accidents seen long ago and forgotten. Then we unconsciously
determine to follow another path, not knowing how risky it truly is.
So -because of two isolated events- we made the permanent assumption
one way must be avoided.</span></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 3.99cm;">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br />We model reality upon our own experiences, fears,
expectations, biases, prejudices, beliefs, self-gotten knowledge, formal
education and social pressures. All these components lie in our
unconscious mind and surface without any awareness when approaching
reality, defining problems or finding solutions. Our intuitions are
basically the unconscious result from all those inner ideas and
emotions. But intuition is sometimes a deceiver. It leads us to the
immediate survival option. This means, no strategic vision, no
planning, just reacting on emotion; which is good when under
pressure. Yet, we can be easy prey of planners with priorities other
than our own.<br /><br />Writing down our theory of the problem, makes it
easier to analyze or redefine. Searching the Internet might
help gathering information, and could support finding biases and
preconceptions. Being flexible to ideas that controvert our own is
essential for a better theoretical construction. Asking others for
viewpoints or questions, surely brings interesting and unexpected
perspectives. Being skeptical is a need.<br /><br />Before making an
important decision, it is critical to visualize the future and ask
ourselves questions such as: how will others react?, is it legal?, is it the problem or a symptom to it?, is it socially accepted?, am I under social pressure to follow
certain path?, what could be its negative effects?, am I willing
to bear its consequences?, are there issues not confronted because
of fear or other reasons?, am I denying dangers that could arise
from my decision? If our own intuitions lead to rejection, perhaps
there is some hidden issue; so our solution needs deeper
examination.<br /><br />We can make better life-decisions if we follow
some kind of method. This document is maybe a guide to my own
procedure for solving problems. I have never tried it completely but
I will. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: medium;">Just a couple months ago I realized that robots are not capable of visual perception. An article I read exposes that watching is a very complex process that needs a lot of intelligence. Understanding a simple chair requires knowing it is the same thing when viewed from different positions. To do this it is not only necessary to have mental images of most chair's angles but an abstraction of the object, which means giving it a name, putting it into a category (furniture, objects for rest by sitting, etc.) Abstraction and defining categories require other skills not directly related to vision: language abilities such as syntax, semantics, words creation, and perhaps even assigning emotional attributes to things (e.g., fire hurts, electricity is dangerous and the like.) And these are not the only problems. Things are not static, they evolve and are part of a three-dimensional world. A glass falls and breaks; this is a process that needs understanding and a corrective action should be taken. People approach, move away or disappear behind a door. A robot will need to know people are its reason to exist, which poses an ethical challenge. Will they be self-aware or have some kind of soul with all this brainpower? For now robots are blind machines, with very restricted autonomy; it seems making them see the world, will not be an easy task.</span></div>

<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 4cm;">
<span style="font-size: 16pt; line-height: 150%;">Guessing the roots of economic
crisis</span></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 4cm;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">In 2013 the world is crossing through lots of
uncertainty, economic difficulties and fear of environmental
collapse. In a previous document I had suggested a few reasons to
this state of things: oil price, disappearance of some industries,
automation, shift of popular interest in cars and some other. But
maybe there are other problems like the worldwide conflict between
keeping contaminating technologies such as oil fuels and the need of
more environmentally friendly ones. Another cause for economic
downgrade might be that the private sector just reduced personnel to
an <i>optimum</i>. I mean, maybe there was some sort of <i>employment boom</i>,
in which there were many job positions not being really necessary.
Perhaps outsourcing to less developed countries killed many work
positions in the developed world. This should have led to better
living standards in poor countries where the outsourcing economy
created jobs. But it seems it did not happen. I guess one essential
cause for economic difficulties is technological stagnation, I mean
not searching for revolutionary options but only improving what
already exists.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div>
<div align="LEFT" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 4cm;">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Cutting edge tech</span></span></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 4cm;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">Up until now technology and perhaps science, have been
only refining what had been under development from the beginnings of
twentieth century: airplanes, engines, computers, rockets, etc.
Reaching the sky is a very expensive endeavor that prevents humanity
from conquering new worlds or make use of minerals in the moon or
somewhere else. Oil price rises every passing day, which reduces the
chances to transportation, commerce and recreational travel. But
reducing its cost would lead to higher atmospheric contamination. Renewable
resources are reaching exhaustion limits which is a threat to human
success on earth. </span><span style="font-size: medium; line-height: 150%;">Mineral reserves are decreasing. </span><span style="font-size: medium; line-height: 150%;">All of these issues require a true revolution in
technology and science in order to guarantee humanity's
sustainability and our expansion to new worlds.</span></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 4cm;">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /><span style="font-size: medium;">What
does it take</span></span></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 4cm;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">So far the only motor to technological revolutions has
been worldwide war. The US financial crash of early twentieth century
was resolved by entering World War II. Atomic technology came out of
the war with a great financial cost. After the war all those German engineers
and scientists were recruited by the USA and Soviet Union. As a
result from this, rockets took people to the moon, airplanes evolved
from wooden bodied ones to metallic jets capable of beating the sound
barrier. But now planetary war does not seem likely due to nuclear
weaponry and its devastating menace. There is a theoretical vision
developed by The Club of Rome, which states that <a href="http://www.geo.mtu.edu/~asmayer/rural_sustain/week3/slides.pdf" target="_blank">human race will collapse by 2040</a>. Now we are experiencing depletion of sea-fishing
resources, air pollution, metals shortage and climate change that
seem to be confirmations of that doomsday scenario. A nuclear
worldwide war is possible when economic crisis deepens to
unmanageable. Maybe the world will not end, but atomic weapons
apparently model a war to last just days or weeks, until parties at
conflict negotiate a truce or someone just loses the fight. This
would not allow time enough for a revolution in science and
technology. So maybe the engine to this foundational shift will come
after reaching the doomsday scenario suggested by the Club of Rome.</span></div>
<div align="LEFT" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 4cm;">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: medium;">A final clarification</span></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 4cm;">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><span style="font-size: small;">I decided to write this document without
any Internet research. This is because I think when being too
methodical, one misses creativity and our own biases are usually
corrected without trace. So maybe I will develop a second document

<br />
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 3.99cm;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">It's a common idea that robots will take most jobs and
people won't work anymore. This would lead us to either fall into
misery or enjoy a life of abundance, according to different views of
the future. But this is an oversimplification of robotics. We assume
robots are almost-human-machines with emotions and moral thought.
<a href="http://science.howstuffworks.com/robot-computer-conscious1.htm" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">That's far distant from reality</a>. Currently robots are just tools with
very limited capabilities and lots of technical issues. Except for
drones, robots can't get freely around. They are like trees,
stuck to a fixed place or requiring human supervision to move between
locations. And there is another major problem: machine-understanding
of visual content (<a href="http://io9.com/the-world-that-only-formerly-blind-people-can-see-476400679" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">watching things</a>) is just at its beginnings. For now
any image or video, is just a bunch of pixels that no computer can
see as we humans do. So there is no way for a robot to process its
surroundings in a human-like way. Finally, I think machines with some
kind of consciousness will be ready in at least 30 years. Then, The
Judgment Day is away. But robotics will have overcome most of current
challenges when conscious machines arise. Therefore, perhaps robots
will be ready to beat humanity when that day comes.<br /><br />In 2013
the world economy is going through a crisis that could worsen.
<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automation" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Automation</a> is blamed for this and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robot" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">robots</a> are perceived as a close
danger for employment. How much of that is true? I searched the
Internet and found the opposite: <a href="http://www.ifr.org/uploads/media/Update_Study_Robot_creates_Jobs_2013.pdf" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">robotics boosts job creation</a>! There
is a double explanation for this. First, as I already explained,
robots are unable to behave or move like humans. This means any job
that requires understanding what's around, walking or simply casually
interacting with people, needs human workers. The second reason is
that robotics (broadly automation) at factories dramatically
increases production. This leads to more distribution and sales
forces that only can be met by humans (more jobs.) New technology
usually leads to lower prices which allows people to buy other
things, which leads to new companies and new jobs. Automation in
general does not affect highly and lowly paid jobs but <a href="http://www.good.is/posts/automation-insurance-robots-are-replacing-middle-class-jobs/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">middle level ones seem to be decreasing</a> either in manufacture or services. Then, maybe this is
the big concern for most.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: medium;">After all these marvelous ideas were written, the world
economy remains in great turmoil. I searched for causes and found
that everything started with banks uncontrolledly lending money in
the US, for real state acquisitions that led to a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Financial_crisis_of_2007%E2%80%932008" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">financial crash</a>
when people failed to pay their debt. But why did banks follow this
trend? Something is still missing. My next suspect was oil price, but
I found that in the 80s it was even relatively <a href="http://inflationdata.com/Inflation/Inflation_Rate/Historical_Oil_Prices_Table.asp" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">higher than today</a>.
Then come all those gone industries: music-records, film-photography
and even the current publishing-books industry victimized by the
Internet and people like me at blogging. Have all those gone jobs not recovered? My last suspect is the car
industry. The developed world has been spinning around cars and parts
factories. But it seems production reached its peak and now people
are not so interested in buying <a href="http://oica.net/category/production-statistics/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">more of them</a>. Maybe the technological
shift to a more automated world is taking its toll.</span></div>

<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Procrastination
means doing something that feels more pleasant or less important, in
order to avoid performing other things considered more relevant or
harder to reach. Procrastination happens only when some kind of
failure hits (because of the distraction). I think procrastination is
linked to prohibitions, fears, conflicts or insecurities, all of them
running in the unconscious mind. I guess the most difficult task is
not necessarily the one being postponed, but that considered as more
dangerous, forbidden, risky or conflictive. Perhaps the fear to
expose ourselves to society and not succeed is a trigger. Performing
activities or reaching objectives could fail if they are in conflict
with some plan of life, which was abandoned on the road and
unconsciously claims its place. But even chasing after your dreams
could lead to procrastination if relatives are a very strong
counter-influence. Then you end up unconsciously sabotaging all plans
to get to your chosen destination. I think there exists some kind of
broader social syndrome comprising the abandonment of projects,
school failure, multitasking as a way not to focus on a particular
chore, even self-destructive behaviors such as drug abuse or
overworking. In fact all procrastination is harmful, because it leads
to some kind of failure and the personal discomfort for not making
what is owed. Taking time to rest when tired or pausing for creative
thinking are not procrastination but could be when degrading the
process.</span></span></span></div>

anxiety, uncertainty, accumulation of pending work, loss of
opportunity, missing the chance to learn, decreased self-steem,
possible failure in achieving the goal, time loss, social failure,
vice as a way of escape or compensation, vicious cycle of guilt and
more procrastination, existential or personal failure, vulnerability.</span></span></span></div>

<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 4cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">There
are other causes for procrastination such as depression, anxiety,
brain chemical imbalances that induce inactivity, mental illness not
manifested, the adverse effects of drug use and even the side-effects
of medications, especially psychiatric ones.</span></span></span></div>

<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">I
think if one is constantly avoiding certain activities, abandoning
projects or evading responsibilities, it is better to ask about one's
general view of life or even either family or social relationships to
determine possible motivations. Writing down the procrastination
issues, even when they do not cause major problems, could help
clarify ideas, clear doubts and define priorities.</span></span></span></div>

<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Liberation Serif, serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Writing
a to-do list with priorities and thinking constantly about the
outcomes (good or bad) of procrastination could help push oneself
into work. Once failure has hit, it is better not to burden oneself
with guilt but making an evaluation so one can prevent repetitions.<br />I
hope the procrastination taken to read this document is helpful.</span></span></span></div>

imagine a world in which there is no more oil for internal combustion engines,
but a cheap recyclable fuel that only needs a first load and lasts
until the engine ends its life cycle. ¿Is it possible? I found the
hypothetical answer some twenty years ago and I am a lawyer, not an
engineer nor a scientist. I cannot test it because financially I live
just at minimal human acceptable condition. But I am sure the core
idea is running everywhere and already has been tried by powerful
corporations and maybe it is under patent protection so noboby can
use it. In my simplistic view, it can be adapted to current engines
with a few tweaks, except for jet engines that would require an
important new approach. But maybe jet fuel could be based on alcohol

<li><div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 4cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-size: medium;">There
are many oil <a href="http://oilandgasinfo.ca/oil-gas-you/products-made-from-oil-and-gas" target="_blank">byproducts</a> that
are still useful and fortune making, such as plastics, lubricant
oils and other which are environmentally poisonous too but very
profitable</span></span></span></div>
</li>
<li><div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 4cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-size: medium;">The
most important reason for oil to stay as the blood of current
civilization: The United States is the main oil-technologician and
keeps its own in-ground reserve well protected. This guarantees
their true world power in case of crisis or planetary war. <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oil_reserves_in_the_United_States" target="_blank">US reserves are estimated</a> so huge that could keep the
world running on gasoline for centuries.</span></span></span></div>
</li>
</ul>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 4cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-size: medium;">OUTCOMES<br />One
result from this is that the world will keep emitting carbon to the
atmosphere and changing our environment into something less
oxygenated and more vegetation-oriented by favoring photosynthesis,
yet the true effect on plants is <a href="http://www.nature.com/scitable/knowledge/library/effects-of-rising-atmospheric-concentrations-of-carbon-13254108" target="_blank">uncertain</a>.
Will humans easily adapt to a less oxygenated air? Another outcome is
that oil derivatives are going to remain expensive so the world will
keep growing slowly. Is this good or bad? If the whole planet's
economic growth raises a lot, there will be more consumption and
waste, but at the same time, better developed countries become more
environmentally efficient. So the net outcome of a slowly growing
world could be renewable resources exhaustion, at least in poor
countries, while <a href="http://www.24hgold.com/english/contributor.aspx?article=1427726620G10020&contributor=Mike+Hewitt" target="_blank">non-renewables</a> might
expand their availability.</span></span></span></div>

REASONS</span></span></span></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 0.58cm; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 4cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-size: medium;">I
made the assumption that high oil price is leading the world
economics to a slowdown. But the true cause for this might be more
difficult to attain. Perhaps oil price is part of the answer but
automation and robotics, big corporations' over-accumulation of
wealth, rich countries too focused on making cars while the market
could have reached its limits or people just shifted desire from cars
to other things (maybe because of gas prices) or even rich countries
might have peaked their enthusiasm for growth and are just bored and
not wanting to keep on leading the world. Scarcity of commodities
(renewable or not) other than oil could be part of the problem. The
economy of information and fun seems not to be creating as many jobs
as needed to boost a depressed planetary economy.</span></span></span></div>

<span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solid-state_drive" target="_blank">Solid state drives</a> that are more like huge usb-stick
memories are going to disrupt all the computing world, when they
replace the conventional hard disk. From operating systems to main
processors, nothing will be the same within the next five years.
Until now, disk drives have been passive receivers of data waiting
for a database update, software configuration change, a new program
to install or some other input/output task. All the software
development has been conceived in the way of open/close files or read/write data from the disk to main memory. Computers are turned on
and off. These new memories, when fast and cheap enough will
eliminate the need for the famous RAM memory and maybe letting just
some memory space within the processor itself for a more quickly
processing (buffering or whatever). Turning on and off will
disappear, and the processor will be designed to function in
wake-sleep modes only. The sleep state will serve to process some
chores that do not require user's participation and maybe help them
solve some kind of internet-search problem, prepare the next session
with interesting stuff according to user tastes. The most interesting
feature of these drives is that their whole space could be used as
main memory. So very complex software will be able of performing
intelligent activities such as better user-machine interface with
audio and video interaction and more intuitive human-machine
connection. The input/output or read/write logic might be discarded
from programming languages. I think that processors won't be a single
chip anymore but distributed ones (embedded into the main memory
drive) with more simplistic tasks and maybe one main processor to
guide the general operation.</span></div>

<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 3.99cm;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">I read somewhere that solid state drives are prone to
fail when intensely used, so perhaps they should be developed to last
longer for the prior ideas to be implemented. But it would be more
interesting if those new memory drives were able of automatically
replacing their own hardware, such as living tissue does, so they can
live for many years. This could allow the development of personalized
computers suited for each one's particular needs.<br />A link to a possible solution:<br /><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/30/embargo-ibm-develops-instantaneous-memory-100x-faster-than-fl/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Phase change memory</a><br /><a href="http://phys.org/news/2013-03-caltech-self-healing-electronic-chips.html#jCp" target="_blank">Self repairing hardware</a></span></div>

<span style="color: #434343;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: medium;">An addiction is
anything you can not fail to do that hurts you. I heard this on Dr.
Nancy Alvarez’s show. I think the concept should include
alcoholism, for simplicity. Otherwise, there is a long list of
definitions for alcoholism. A trap of addictions is that if you
manage to leave one, you start another one. Some even have their
positive side. The workaholic may achieve their fortune. But almost
certainly they will die early from heart attack, cirrhosis or some other
illness. An addiction is a manifestation of an underlying problem, an
unresolved internal struggle. I almost dare say the addict to
one thing, is to other ones too. Thus, as described above, the super
worker also is an alcoholic, drug consumer, seeks sex without control
or has a reckless behavior. What characterizes an addiction is that
it is self-destructive.</span></span></span></div>

trick to a solution lies in finding the underlying problem, the inner
battle. It might be some abuse in childhood, or a situation too
traumatic at any stage of life. My bet is that generally it is a
conflict between what parents demand from you and what you do or want
to do with your life. I get the impression that this is a failure
that comes from the beginnings of mankind.</span></span></span></a></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 3.93cm;">
<span style="color: #434343;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: medium;">MY
APPROACH</span></span></span></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 3.93cm;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IY5ITurHUgI/UO1BZvo97LI/AAAAAAAAD5c/yRcrKXEe9Q4/s1600/Nexium_%2528esomeprazole_magnesium%2529_pills.JPG"><span style="color: #434343;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: medium;">It
might exist a causing trauma to an addiction. Although they are
usually a manifestation of the subconscious struggle between what
your parents (or whoever raised you) decided should be your life, and
what you're doing with it or want to do. In part this happens because
they longed for a certain type of child. But parents drag their
internal battles from the clash with their own parents too. And this
non resolved conflict, parents channel it on you in the form of
possessiveness, control, contradiction, penalty, claim, hardness,
cruelty, and sometimes indifference. It is an endless chain. Perhaps
you will do it with your children, or you are doing it already. Up to
this point I have not considered the possibility of a mental illness like
schizophrenia or some other unmanifested. The ways of conflict are
many. It may be that your parents live in a power struggle and you
became a disaster as an outcome. Or they have migrated and left you
behind, or went into a separation.</span></span></span></a></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 3.93cm;">
<span style="color: #434343;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: medium;">SOME TRICKS</span></span></span></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 3.93cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IY5ITurHUgI/UO1BZvo97LI/AAAAAAAAD5c/yRcrKXEe9Q4/s1600/Nexium_%2528esomeprazole_magnesium%2529_pills.JPG"><span style="color: #434343;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: medium;">I
learned this from a television show so long ago that I forgot about
it. To face an addiction you have to think about the immediate
negative effects. For example, if you smoke, as was my case, you have
to remind you rself again and again that it leaves your clothes stinky,
ruin your breath, makes you nervous, causes headaches, gets you tired
when walking, the smell bothers most women, it's something that makes
you look like someone problematic, etc. Do not torment yourself with
guilt. This will lead the internal struggle to maintain and increase
the problem. If you think about the long-term effects of an
addiction, such as cancer, it can even raise the addiction. It sounds
absurd, but that is the result. An addiction is a self-destructive
behavior rooted in the subconscious. And if you think of the worst
effects, it will increase. Another trick I guess I discovered myself,
is not to finish the issue at once. This means, not to think you are
never going to re-do or are going to stop it permanently. The idea is
not to put much pressure on the decision, to prevent the desire for what your leaving from growing. In my case it worked. I do not
know if it is useful to others. I sometimes smoke a cigarette
(tobacco), only to end up with nausea, headache, dizziness and
nervousness. You must resolve the mess inside from the very bottom.
Otherwise, you will leave a vice to start another one.</span></span></span></a></span></div>

Dreams can be fun because they have very little structure and seem too real. I usually enjoy recalling a nightmare. What makes them something terrible is the emotional dark aspect in which they operate. Sometimes I dream of dangerous things and I have seen them as an adventure film. The emotional side of the dream is what determines whether or not it is a nightmare. It's like the background music of movies. I've seen entire television series that teach you how to interpret dreams. I have tried to follow those ideas. And I got a bit unstable. I believe that dreams are the most common way the subconscious thinks. It's a fairly chaotic and disorganized thought process. I guess it helps you find creative and unexpected solutions to everyday problems. This thinking is hidden while you're awake to avoid being confused. I imagine that the preconscious is some kind of evaluator of the subconscious processes, which compares these with your daily activity. And when it finds something interesting, throws it in the form of spark or intuition: Finally got it! How I had not noticed that before?! The fact is that dreams should not be remembered. And when that occurs, you must be alert because it means that something important is happening in your world. I think the preconscious sends you the whole </span></span></span><span style="color: #434343;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><i><span style="background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;">video</span></i></span></span><b><span style="color: #434343;"><span style="background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;"> </span></span></b><span style="color: #434343;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;">of the dream or nightmare, raw and unedited, to warn you that there is something requiring urgent attention. And that the preconscious is overwhelmed and cannot find a way to solve it. It can be a health problem or conflict at work, maybe you are about to get fired and you're missing signals. It might be many things. The key is to take the dream or nightmare as a warning to check what is going on around or inside you. But the dream itself should never be interpreted. Why? Well, once the dream is installed in your aware mind, the subconscious registers it as an event that happened in reality. When analyzed consciously, it is reinforced. The subconscious puts it back into its </span></span></span><span style="color: #434343;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><i><span style="background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;">blender</span></i></span></span><b><span style="color: #434343;"><span style="background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;"> </span></span></b><span style="color: #434343;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;">of disordered processing. And creating chaos in something that was already chaotic, does not produce good results. Maybe you'll just get emotional instability or disconnection from reality. Besides, putting yourself to interpret dreams, you can reach tons of different conclusions. And end up more confused than if you did not attempt to analyze them. If you want an objective interpretation of a dream, you should find a psychologist who specializes in this area. <div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 0.58cm; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: DejaVu Sans, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">There
will be no more gasoline internal combustion engines. A simple and
wasteless fuel will take over. Powerlines will not be necessary
anymore. You will have your own power station at home. Cars won't
need refueling. The price of traveling and transport will
decrease dramatically so people will mix a lot with diseases
spreading worlwide and goods being produced anywhere on earth.</span></span></span></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 0.58cm; margin-bottom: 0cm;">

<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: DejaVu Sans, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">AUTOMATION
AND THE EXPIRATION OF DEMOCRACY</span></span></span></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 0.65cm; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: DejaVu Sans, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Automation
and robotics are a current revolution. The world will be very
different in some 30 years due to the economic shift of a majority of
people not working but plenty of goods being produced by machines.
Maybe there will be less democracy because governments will rule the
economy in order to distribute the welfare generated by self-driven
machines. <a href="http://io9.com/what-will-human-cultures-be-like-in-100-years-453934475" target="_blank">This automated society will behave</a> very differently than we
currently do. Maybe poor countries will stop working at all and
accommodate to receive full help from the robotised rich world;
therefore the gap between developed countries and the third world is
going to magnify.</span></span></span></div>

<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: DejaVu Sans, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">I
guess there will be an important discovery on how to process salt
water from the sea into drinking liquid on a very cheap way.
Biotechnology will increase productivity at the top and instead of
farms, food will be harvested in many floors(*) buildings inside
cities (levitating towns).<br />Link (Dec-27-2012):<br /><a href="http://phys.org/news/2012-12-america-young-scientist-crafts-purify.html">Water

<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 0.58cm; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: DejaVu Sans, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">At
some point, when abundance in rich countries assures all life
conditions for everybody, technology and science will be released by
companies and governments or at least there will be a great share of
knowlegde-exchange because current rules of competition are not going
to be a need to survive. There will be no more struggle to overcome
the other one, so knowlegde-secrets will not be an advantage anymore.
As a result from this, human evolution is going to accelerate and
more advancements and discoveries will take place. </span></span></span><span style="font-family: 'DejaVu Sans', sans-serif; font-size: medium; line-height: 0.58cm;">Link: </span><span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: DejaVu Sans, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="http://opensource.org/">Open

<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 0.58cm; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: DejaVu Sans, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">I
think movies are going to be developed entirely by software, even
from the script. So very few people will be in charge barely on the
most refined work or minor shifts. But since nobody wants imaginary
artists -people want real blood- there will be true people
holographed in files that will be used for making films. These
persons are going to true-film the dangerous scenes, or at least
pretend they are. They will be forced to lead lives that resemble
their movie characters and maybe even participate in dangerous
situations in real life, or fake them. Maybe some of this is already
happening, I am not too much a movies man.</span></span></span></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 0.58cm; margin-bottom: 0cm;">

<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: DejaVu Sans, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">FLIGHT AND LEVITATION</span></span></span></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="line-height: 0.58cm; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: DejaVu Sans, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">My last guessed revolution has to do with flight or levitation. I think there will be a major breakthrough on how to keep things floating in the air or escaping the gravity attraction. So flying will not require wings and maybe there will be floating cities. Perhaps space flight will be easy and humanity will settle on the moon, mars and other worlds, creating new countries and political problems.</span></span></span></div>

little. Most of the workers in this new world will be scientists,

everything related to automation that cannot be performed by
machines.</span></span></span></div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eNWNInZ69oQ/UXuNIUal_KI/AAAAAAAAM6k/t4tlQtqegjQ/s1600/Just+Typing.gif" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eNWNInZ69oQ/UXuNIUal_KI/AAAAAAAAM6k/t4tlQtqegjQ/s200/Just+Typing.gif" width="200" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: medium; text-align: justify;">I did not
make any web search around intelligence. I chose to go the
naive way and then maybe discover the theory. Perhaps what I am
writing is outdated or discarded but I am having fun with this. My
point of view is that intelligence is not an abstract skill based
only upon logic, math or some other human theoretical creation. Logic (maybe algorithms) seem necessary for any thought or emotional process but maybe conventional logic is not enough to grasp the whole mind's dynamics.</span><br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">THE GUESSING
PROCESS OF THOUGHT</span></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: medium; text-align: justify;">Uncertainty is at the core of any thinking
process. We will never be able to know everything, so we guess.
Religion is a very useful tool to give meaning to the unknown; but
science or philosophy give more accurate explanations. Science is
an excellent tool yet there is always a limit to it. There are some
questions that science does not approach; philosophy fills that
space and then religion or even fantasy. Us humans organize things
according to categories, similarities or convenience. Then we assign
names to those categories and things. We link a thing to a category
and both get a new meaning. Emotions are present at any thought
process of course. So there's an emotional side for any connection or
idea.</span>
<br />
<div align="LEFT" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div>
<div align="LEFT" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
</div>
<div align="LEFT" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">WANDERING
ME</span></div>
<div align="LEFT" style="line-height: 150%; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">To
my knowledge artificial intelligence aims to emulate the human
conscious mind or solve problems based on rigid logic. Human brain
runs on unexpected paths even when fully aware. You can amaze
yourself <i>playing an automatic video</i> of stabbing some coworker
on the back just because they raised the voice at you; then you come
back to reality and try figure out why they did so. Psychology has
determined that we have a parallel mind labeled as <i>unconscious self</i>
that flows chaotically and apparently not following any ethical rule.
This unconscious mind devises strange worlds in which the known rules
of reality are barely followed and events do not happen in a
linear-time way. This strange form of thinking affects our decisions
however it seems artificial intelligence theorists and developers do
not consider it at all.</span></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">CURIOSITY</span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">Artificial
intelligence can be whatever we humans decide it should be. We are
its creator so we define how it functions. Until now, AI serves the
purpose of helping us do tasks that are impossible for our natural
brains. But we want artificial brains to behave as our minds work. It
seems technology is not currently capable of this kind of feat. I
think for a machine to cogitate like humans do, it takes perceiving
reality same way as we do. This means eyes, skin, a sense of smell,
ears and instinctive reactions such as our own. A full nervous system that
current electronics cannot achieve. Maybe nanotechnology will solve
it. Animals focus on things that start moving before them. This is an
instinct for self defense and maybe for hunting. A little child is
fascinated with the light of a candle, he tries to grab it and then
he feels the hurt that warns him of the danger and quickly retreats.
So there is a process of watching, guessing, comparing with other
already known things, and when realising it is something new,
beginning to explore. We learn from others too. This little kid might
be warned of not touching the flame. Maybe he will obey.</span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">PENDING:
INSTINCT, EMOTIONS, TACT, MEMORIES...</span><br />

have been thinking of what an electronic text should look like. </span><br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">The
core strategy is readability, which means:</span></span></span></div>
<ul>
<li><div style="line-height: 0.41cm; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Simple
and easy to understand fonts</span></span></span></div>
</li>
<li><div style="line-height: 0.41cm; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">A
single basic font and color</span></span></span></div>
</li>
<li><div style="line-height: 0.41cm; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Not
huddled letters</span></span></span></div>
</li>
<li><div style="line-height: 0.41cm; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">A
pale background either yellow, brown or mustard</span></span></span></div>
</li>
<li><div style="line-height: 0.41cm; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Reduced
width (some five inches)</span></span></span></div>
</li>
<li><div style="line-height: 0.41cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Some
space between lines</span></span></span></div>
</li>
</ul>
<div style="line-height: 0.41cm; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Then
it comes the content itself. It should be:</span></span></span></div>
<ul>
<li><div style="line-height: 0.41cm; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Grammarly
correct</span></span></span></div>
</li>
<li><div style="line-height: 0.41cm; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Easy-to-understand
sentences</span></span></span></div>
</li>
<li><div style="line-height: 0.41cm; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Original</span></span></span></div>
</li>
<li><div style="line-height: 0.41cm; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Interesting</span></span></span></div>
</li>
<li><div style="line-height: 0.41cm; margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Short</span></span></span></div>
</li>
<li><div style="line-height: 0.41cm;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">Moving
to reflection or action</span></span></span></div>
</li>
</ul>

Current access to
the Internet poses a series of problems to individual rights such as
privacy issues, intelectual property threats coming from <i>the terms of
use </i>(the contract). It seems the internet has evolved into a national
security tool for the United States. Yet the whole world makes use of
it. For US people some irruption into their cyberlives might be
acceptable as long as it ensures their security and freedom. To the
rest of us there is no benefit. I do not know if in the United States
there are means to prevent other people from breaking into one's web connections. I
guess there are, since it looks like they trust the internet for
business. In my case that is not possible. I am outside the United
States and I have never felt secure on the internet. Attacks to any
of my web accounts have been common. Breaking passwords appears to be
really easy. So it is hard for me to pass a credit card into any web
service. One last and devastating issue on internet <i>terms of use</i> is
that providers determine what you can upload or not. They define
political correctness rules for anything you upload, even if it is a
simple letter to a close friend. So the internet has become some kind
of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Brother_(Nineteen_Eighty-Four)">big
brother</a> that molds even your thoughts.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 0.02cm; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; margin-right: 0.02cm; text-align: justify;">
I think there is
a lot of room for a new and very different electronic network. One
that guarantees privacy, security, freedom, property and which should
be world-wide dispersed so it does not become a national security
instrument for a particular country. If it can happen it will come
true. American corporations are surely going to refuse it. Are
american individuals going to take it?</div>

<span style="text-align: justify;">Terminator film throws a warning on robots taking over and wiping all of us out. It is not a new idea. It appears to be running around since XIX century. It brings some worry on the future. But there are many other concerns that can lead human race to self destruction much sooner than this robotic-artificial-intelligence-doom. Genetical engineering can lead to out of control mutations or diseases. Automation seems to be driving developed countries into a collapse. Even current nuclear weapons might kill most human population. People live huddled in cities. This exacts a sea of oil flowing to multimillion humans towns. If this black blood begins running short, the whole civilisation of cities would quickly die.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For machines to take over it is required two curious abilities that humans do not master yet: Self replication and self repairing. No device can rule humans if not carrying these skills. No single robot will decide our destiny if it is not self-aware and capable of desire. The only out-of-control-technology threat to mankind might be the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grey_goo">grey goo</a>. It is a nanotech hell of tiny machines replicating uncontrollably until they destroy all life on earth. When nuclear weapons were only a project it was suspected that a single detonation was going to spread through the whole universe and bring it all to an end. It did not happen. So even the grey goo is perhaps just too much fear. And same as nuclear bombs no grey goo or tech-doom will prevent people from trying new things.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
One of these weekends I found this movie on a public tv station. I usually do not invest time in action movies. But it caught my eye when reviewing the technological evolution. There were no cellphones. Wireless communication was a novelty. Scenes are slower than nowadays. So I found it less violent than I remember. The script is absolutely unreal. After all it is a movie to hypnotise the audiencie through violence. The story is about some guys who devise a bloody plot just to free a single man. But it takes seizing a whole airport in Washington. And as a warning bad guys crash a huge airplane full of passengers. Killing lots of people is a mass-crime thousands of times more relevant than simply attempting to save a man from justice. It is an absurdity only conceived to make possible a film of explosions. Could it happen in the real world? What if this movie was inspiring for the terrorist attacks of september 11th of 2001? Reality proved to be more fantastic than an action movie.</div>

of mine on facebook's vision of socializing. There is no video choice
anywhere. Facebook is very shy besides. It warns people of not trying
to connect with others if they are not persons you know in the real
world. One day I realized women love text-only chats. And they are
very cautious about relating with new people. So facebook apparently
is female-oriented. I read somewhere that more than 50% users are
women. No surprise to me. I foretold that any social network site
should be webcam-limited to survive the facebook phenomenon. Then a
few days ago I find google+ and its hangouts. I confess my operating
system is not capable of recognizing my webcam. So I am going to wait
until I get one that works well. Until that day, no hangouts to me.
Returning to my speculations, I was amazed that the hangouts thing
was successful when I anticipated it would be a major issue in the
realm of women. Yet google+ is growing rocket-speed. I was confused.
So I checked the people in hangouts and found the answer: it seems
most </span><i style="text-align: justify;">hangers</i><span style="text-align: justify;"> are men. Next thing I found about google+ was a site
claiming two thirds of google+ accounts are owned by men. Surprise! I
really don't know how true is that. Anyway it looks like many
googlers are male. If you are a single woman maybe google+ is the
place.</span>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00544574975253676790noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1728711178373624543.post-18299607448073595172012-04-22T21:27:00.000-06:002013-04-27T02:36:56.883-06:00THE FIFTY YEARS TO COME<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TpBTas8-rrE/UXuN2HYfrTI/AAAAAAAAM7E/Mh-MzOQNbPQ/s1600/Just+Typing.gif" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TpBTas8-rrE/UXuN2HYfrTI/AAAAAAAAM7E/Mh-MzOQNbPQ/s200/Just+Typing.gif" width="200" /></a>I remember an article from the 1970's
on the negative impact of automation in economics. No solution was found and
things were left as they came. Now most developed countries are hitting the ground and becoming economically slow. More
and more people are jobless. My guess is that not only
automation is involved in the current economy's downfall. It seems
World War II years were the last important techno-scientific revolution span.
That happened long ago. On current time humankind is drowning in cars. To me,
this is half the problem. Car factories cannot grow anymore or even
survive. Building cars and parts appear to be an important segment of global economy. Some kind of tech-revolution should burst from somewhere. If not, a worldwide war might force the change with the risk
of returning to past centuries after destroying the current civilization.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Automation and an economy focused on
cars are the combination that leads to a failing economy from my viewpoint.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What to do with automation? There are four choices:</div>
</div>
<ul>
<li><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Letting things flow on their own</div>
</div>
</li>
<li><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Stopping the automation
progress (not likely as I see it)</div>
</div>
</li>
<li><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Developing some kind of
welfare-economy led by corporations</div>
</div>
</li>
<li><div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
An unexpected correction devised
by governments, companies or both</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
</div>
</li>
</ul>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If nothing is done, the world's economy
is going to deteriorate every day. A global war might arise or some
kind of civilizations-collision could happen. My bet is that a sort
of free income will be given to jobless people only by big
corporations in the beginning. Then it should spread to almost every company either big or small. It does not seem a good solution since nobody wants to give money away. So this free emolument should be very short if determined exclusively by the private sector. Therefore it would not boost any economical growth.</div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Perhaps the impulse to a change is coming
from developing countries which are more free to experiment. So this
means a different world with the power moving from Europe and The United
States to China, India, Brazil and some other. It is already in
course...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Forgive some misspelling. English is second language to me. By the way, this is not a translation from Spanish. There is no Spanish document similar to this.</div>
